Welcome to the Ally Network for staff and students at UWA. An ALLY is someone who is informed about, is sensitive toward and understanding of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (GLBTI) people and their issues and affirms the experience and rights of GLBTI people. The Early Years Since its inception in 2002, the Ally program has recruited more than 250 Allies across campus, thus making a significant contribution to promoting an inclusive culture at UWA. The program has just released an Evaluation Report describing the achievements of the Ally Program in its formative years. Perhaps the most striking achievement relates to how the Allies have exerted influence as 'champions' and, in doing so, forged sensitivity and deeper understanding of GLBTI issues.
