I have really valued the Ally network. This has been important in at least two ways: as a postgrad student, recognizing the Ally symbol somewhat subconsciously as a signifier of UWA as a generally inclusive place; and as an Ally contact, being able to provide a friendly face and some advice to those who have contacted me. The training and subsequent events have been really informative and useful. What a great program! Congratulations to all involved. Kathleen, UWA Post-graduate student. Evaluation Comments from Ally Training Sessions The last training session for 2009 was held on the 17th August and was a great success with again, more than a full house registering for attendance. Some comments from the August 2009 Evaluation Forms: "Excellent, that is all there is to say! Thank you for an inspiring and informative session that provided great insight to an often ignored part of society." "I would recommend the course to others to raise awareness. The talk was engaging and thought provoking. Made me realise issues are ongoing and much broader than I first thought. I am definately more aware and knowledgeable about issues and how I should and will respond." "This program is wonderful. It has opened my mind and broadened my knowledge on issues surrounding sexual diversity." "Thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to do this as a student. I will make a difference." |
